Privacy Policy

RatioForge is a free, no-login aspect ratio calculator. This page explains what data is and is not collected when you use the site.
Who is responsible
RatioForge is operated by bsgoods, an independent project based in the Netherlands, which acts as the data controller for this website. Because the site has no accounts and collects no personal data (see below), there is no user profile to access or delete. Questions can be sent through the contact page.
No accounts, no sign-up
RatioForge has no user accounts and no registration. We do not ask for, collect, or store your name, email address, or any other personal contact information.
Images stay in your browser
When you drop or select an image to detect its ratio, the image is read entirely inside your browser to measure its pixel dimensions. Images are never uploaded to our servers, never stored, and never sent to any third party.
Local storage on your device
RatioForge stores a small amount of data in your browser's local storage to remember your preferences. This data never leaves your device and contains:
- Theme preference — whether you chose light or dark mode.
- Cookie/ads consent choice — whether you accepted or declined personalised ads.
- Calculator state — your current ratio, width and height may be kept in the page URL so you can bookmark or share a calculation.
Cookies and Google AdSense
RatioForge displays advertising through Google AdSense. To do this, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads and, with your consent, personalise them based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
We use Google Consent Mode: advertising and analytics storage are set to denied by default until you make a choice in the consent banner. If you select Decline, ads remain non-personalised. If you select Accept, personalised advertising is enabled. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which makes the consent banner appear again.
For details on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google's partner-sites policy and Google's Privacy Policy. You can also manage ad personalisation in Google Ad Settings.
The main cookies involved are set by Google when ads load:
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| __gads | Google AdSense | Ad serving and frequency capping | Up to ~13 months |
| __gpi | Google AdSense | Ad personalisation / measurement ID | Up to ~13 months |
| IDE / DSID | Google DoubleClick | Personalised ads (only after you accept) | Up to ~13 months |
Exact names and lifespans are set by Google and may change. No advertising cookies are placed until the AdSense script loads, and personalised-ads cookies are only used if you accept.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Because RatioForge stores no personal data and no account, most data-subject requests do not apply — there is nothing on our side to export or erase. You still have the right to:
- Withhold or withdraw consent for personalised advertising at any time.
- Object to personalised ads and opt out via Google Ad Settings, or the US ad-industry opt-outs.
- Manage or delete cookies and local storage directly in your browser.
Your choices
- Decline personalised ads via the consent banner.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Use the site without uploading any image — image detection is entirely optional.
